Just wanted to chime in and say that DOA series has a lot of story material to pull from basically due to having Ryu Hayabusa in the game. Ninja Gaiden had 4 games and soon to be 5. They could of made the movie based around Ryu. Remember that Ninja Gaiden was the original cutscene video game.
DOA series has a storyline, but its presentation is horrendous. Its spread all over the place. From instruction manuals (who reads them ) to in-game cutscenes in various versions of the same game to ending movies to charts only released in Japan to what's mentioned in interviews. It reminds me of the KOF series storyline in presentation. They could of easily done the 4 ninjas storyline and it would of been enjoyable. Instead they opted to follow the storyline of twin assets. This movie is just another video game movie turd.
As for Peter Jackson being the Executive Producer for Halo, its a good thing. Executive Producer gets the final say in the movie and can make additional cuts over what the director has done. That's why we get Directors Cut DVD editions. Plus, Peter brought Weta on board. That's never a bad thing.
