I too also caught the sci-fi channel broadcast of the first four eps of OAV BGC. Back then when the sci-fi channel was actually showing cutting edge schtick, I watched and waited for every saturday morning that summer. Originally I hated BGC, mostly because it looked old and dated, and the plot sounded stupid, but the action channel on comcast cable started showing the same shows almost six years later, I got hooked. It was BGC, Dominion Tank Police, Darkside Blues, Nightmare Campus (hehe...), Original Appleseed, Voltron, G Force, Robotech, Macross, Macross seven, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Gasaraki. It wasn't until four years ago, when they first started showing BGC 2040 on cable tv that I fell in love with the Bubblegum universe again.
