RTS and FTS games, for FTS I love Half-Life and Unreal Tournament games, Deus Ex is another fav, though I was dissapointed with the secuel.
The day I get HL2 I'm going to get nuts, I have already played the demo something like 6 or 7 times :P

My all time favs of RTS are StarCraft and Total Annihilation, I like C&C:Generals too but I just played it a couple of times. I'm quite hyped for the comming Supreme Commander game of the makers of Total Annihilation

there are also the 4X games (explore, expand, exploit and exterminate), the Civilization series are the most known, but I've been playing Space Empires IV a lot.
