CHAIN FICTION: THE SECOND RAID...
#1
MUAHAHAHAHAHA! ITS THAT TIME AGAIN!

Here are the rules:
-This story will continue until it gets so convoluted we have to stop and reevaluate the course of events.
-Forum rules apply ie; no double posting
-NO FUCKING FLAMING!
-You will continue where the other author left off but continuity ends there
-HAVE FUN DOING IT!

And here we go again. This is a bgc 2042 story.

A woman clad in skin tight tactical armor peared out the dust covered tinted plastic of her goggles into the scene of a waste ridden city. It seemed like only yesterday that she had been window shopping on these same streets, her only care the amount of money she was budgeting for the week. What a contrast this was, the mammoth skyscrapers and ground level storefronts, all nearly destroyed. Burned out cars and boomer carcasses lined the majority of the streets they drove through, and in some cases so did the bodies of their unfortunate human prey.

"Looks like a nightmare I once had." The woman uttered before ducking down into the ADP armored personell carrier. The pungent stench of vomit and urine soaked through the fibers of her carbon filter face mask. The APC had been used to transport the wounded and dying, something that left a particular musk and stench behind. The woman pressed the outlet valve on the outside of her mask freeing her senses of the god awful smell. She sat in her usual corner near the exit ramp, crossing her arms and trying her best to look focused despite the severity of the situation.

The satellite platform previously inhabited by Galatea had been deactivated, but the platform itself rained debris down onto the earth in massively devastating storms of fire. That, coupled with the carnage left unchecked by the boomer plague led to the evacuation of all living people from the mega-city of Megatokyo. Outside armies and contractors were quick to jump in and help, huge plots of land for future business were at stake which led to the creation of "United Ground Forces Pacific".

"Water?" An American soldier, a Marine she noted offered her his cantine.

"No. Save it for yourself."

The four hour trek the convoy had to take every day should have only taken thirty minutes at the most, but road blocks, detours, and the horribly inaccurate intel of possible survivor locations kept them busy.

"Suit yourself, but we've still got a ways to go. You sure your good?" He offered his cantine again.

Lifting up her tinted goggles and pulling back the head covering she let him see the green eyes, bleach blond hair, and japanese features. His mouth fell open.

"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" She asked playfully.

"I just, well, I... Uh, I didn't think-"

"That I was a particularly attractive woman?"

"Sure."

"Hey Miran you hear that?" An ADP Special operator asked the dumbfounded man.

"Hear what?"

"That! It came from up ahead, sounds like-"

"GUNFIRE!" They all echoed.

Every body holding a weapon in the belly of the carrier tensed instinctively. A myriad of clicks, pops, slides and clinks filled the previously silent area as man and weapon became one. Spare belts and magazines of ammunition went into every nook and cranny available, large fifty caliber rounds being loaded into the twin cannons mounted above their heads.

"ALRIGHT LISTEN UP!" The ADP tank commander called out. "We're in the middle of Minato ward, about two clicks south of the old ADP HQ building. We've got reports of a stranded chopper crew near the fifth and sixth floors, the heliport and helipad. There's a roadblock up ahead so you'll be making your way on foot with two fire bees as air cover." He handed a clear piece of plastic to all thirty of the multinational team in the carrier. "These maps are your only lifelines in there. However they're based on the blue prints for the original building, and you all know how intel holds up around here."

There was a collective groan as the transparent GPS maps were handed out.

"Now, your section leader will be ADP SO Romanova. From what I hear you know the "lay of the land"."

Everyone glanced at the blond, her innocent look contrasting sharply with the gruff, rough and tumble attitude of the others around her.

"This isn't my first op as a Special Operative, so I don't wanna hear any stupid crap coming from your mouths when we're in there. Listen to my commands, keep the communications network clear and we'll all get out in one piece. Other then that, I'm ADP Special Operative Second Class Nene Romanova, pleased to frag with you."

She took a bow and let them all take her in.

The silence was interrupted by a distant high pitched screech and gunfire.

"ALRIGHT EVERYBODY LOCK AND LOAD, WE'RE GOIN IN!"

They all prepped to go sprint out the back, an action they rehearsed as a group over and over again. Ready to go in an instant and engage the enemy in quick and concise patterns of fire. That is, until the radioman shouted above the noise outside.

"FUCKING SHIT! ITS A GOD DAMN DOBERMAN!"

"This is lightning two-six to all, direct front, repeat direct front, two heavies, engage at will!" The commander ordered.

From the inside of the apc it sounded like someone had stuck a firecracker in a pop can. That is, until the back door dropped. Running out into the evening air, the woman dove for a concrete highway separator to the left of where the apc had come to a halt. Blue tracers from the opposite direction were streaming their way past her head the horrible roar of a plague infected Doberman cutting through the gunfire. Unslinging the short rifle, she let herself down into the prone. Sporadic cuffs of fire seemed to be coming from everywhere, but thank god those she was in charge of seemed to be drawing from their own experience.

She could see the tower through the smoke and fire, its large looming presence both reassuring and utterly stomach turning.

"EVERYBODY! FALL BACK AND REGROUP, WE'RE GOING TO FIND A WAY AROUND THIS THING!" She yelled.

They had begun to fall back, each covering the other, the APC's fifty caliber guns spitting fire. The mix of US, British, French and Australian army and Marines, thrown in with the Japanese self defense force and ADP Special Operatives made for a formidable team.

Nene stayed focused, her friends lives were at stake in that tower she had to get them out-

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
