Though, overall, her role isn't that major. The main character, Simon, would be the primary focus of the anime. The first half of the anime deal with humanity rebelling against oppression. Trying to keep my description vague. I don't want to spoil, people.
To sum up the anime. It's hot blood giant robot action! It's been compared to GaoGaiGar, but I've only watched one episode of that anime. So, I can't confirm that view. Oh, the anime fast pace. So, every will happen all at once.
