The first seven minutes of Elfen Lied is one of--if not the--most violent scenes I've watched. I thought the series was absolutely amazing, though...there's quite a bit of violence but it's not constant, nor do I think the lewdness or sexual overtones reach a parentally-uncomfortable level (and FWIW, the manga is a lot more sexually graphic...the anime remains in the realm of tasteful...mostly...). To put it into perspective, someone who watches modern horror movies would be underwhelmed by Elfen Lied's graphic content (at least IMO)

Personally, I was completely hooked after the first scene. Even the credits and the OP are phenomenal =) Gustav Klimt should be honored Wink
