Yeah, I can see what you mean. I even own The Empire Strikes Back Original Soundtrack. The music in the battle scenes such as the Battle on Hoth is spectacular. Btw, may favorite music is the part when Luke brings down the AT-AT; an ass-kicking hit.
You also need to understand that George Lucas orchestrated his own music in a time where hip-hop music was dominating the market. What I'm saying is, if Lucas used real music tracks when he made Star Wars, there wouldn't be an "in a galaxy far, far away" sort of feel in the movie. It'd feel like this was taking place right here, on earth. And the Death Star would seem like a warehouse rather a battle station.
