Batou isn't chatting up The Major... the confusion you all seem to be going through is occuring because you're seeing this from a purely organic human point of view. Try to imagine you and pretty much everyone around you has been cyberised. Human emotion, as a result, and the expression of it would change quite a lot.

That makes absolutely no sense in terms of human cyberisation. If anything, Motoko would be bi by default and not because it's a conscious choice, but because it's an irrelevant issue for her in the first place.

There is a explination for the physical things. Its mostly a cyborg thing which means, if you don't have the parts, your not going to be able to recieve the same information that would be deemed as "pleasureable." It mostly applies to full cyborg bodies on bassis of touch information, and not for those that have E-Brain implants, unless they have invaded/jumped in to chat with someone having a moment with a significant other over a communication line, which results in feed back in information of parts they do not have.

Technicaly the major can have sex with another human, but within cyborgs, full cyborgs, its a matter of having the proper parts or compatable same parts, because each sexed part relays different information to each user of said parts.
