I watched Gasaraki after I got very interested in it by the trailer, and after reading the four-volume manga (in German). I bought the whole series in that newly-released box set when ADV began compiling their older series in box sets. It's been a while since I watched it now, but from what I can remember it's a very good show with a lot of unique atmosphere and discussion. It's not your standard big mecha combat anime, it is a story about a war that looks and sounds real enough to become reality one day, and about two young adults (I'd call them that, they are too mature for the Eva-type teenager) being caught in the middle of that war. It's very interesting and thrilling to see how the plot unfolds as they discover stuff about their past that explains the link they have with each other, and there is a lot of traditional and classic Japanese myth to that.
One thing I "disliked" about Gasaraki was that it never caught me like the other series I've watched. I never found myself really immersed in the world of these two protagonists, I just sat there and observed. Nevertheless it was a great experience and I think it's time I try it again... *eyes over to his anime collection*
