The French government heavily supports their countries videogame industry... so of course, the Japanese government supporting the anime industry is the right thing to do. Creates jobs and opportunities for people as well as bringing in the cash and interest from overseas. Of course that's been happening all along by itself without the governments help, but it's always nice to know that the state sees this as a positive thing for its country.

So far the French government hasn't meddled with the videogame industry in their country, they've only helped it grow and support anyone who wants to make videogames.
