I meant that each game would require its individual settings, say you like a particular setting on Zelda to be 3 while on another game you find the same setting to be best at 4... get it now?
Now onto my impressions on the two versions of TP...
I've finished the Wii version, I've played through a decent amount of the GCN version.
The controls for the Wii version win, simply because it's more fun, and for me at least, more precise. I have heard that some people have trouble with it, but I find that aiming with the Wiimote is a lot more responsive and faster than the GCN version.
Menus are far quicker to navigate, having 4 item slots instead of 2 also saves time and if you don't want to see the fairy onscreen all the time then don't point the Wiimote at the screen all the time.
The lack of free camera controls doesn't matter for the Wii version, I played the Wii version first and then went to the GCN version and never felt the need to use the free camera at all.
Widescreen is so worth it if you have it, the HUD doesn't get in the way at all but the GCN versions HUD is so damn annoying, especially when you have the map up, guh.
Shaking or swinging the Wiimote for sword slashes is much for fun than tapping the B button all the time, plus it's not as tiring or stupid as people think, it's not 1:1 but it'd be stupid if it was for this particular game. It's very accurate, I've always found my mark when slashing the Wiimote/sword and furthermore, the Spin Attack is SO much better with the Wii version. The GCN version of the spin attack is outdated, slow and most of the time totally frustrating to use. The controls are far more responsive on the Wii version, not the other way around.
And of course, obviously, fishing rocks for the Wii version.
Oh and one final note, having the Wiimote and Nunchaku being separate in your hands is so damn comfortable, you're not tied down and you can pretty much sit and have your hands anywhere you like when you play.
