Second Day in Ordon Village
I'm free today, don't have to go and help out at the ranch, I can just go around the village, have fun and talk to the locals and play with the kids... speaking of which, there is a group of them outside my house who are really excited about a Slingshot being sold at the local store, of course, the poor bastards can't afford to buy it since they're only kids XD So I go to the store to see what they're raving on about... turns out the lady in the store is depressed that her cat has run away and won't serve me... jeez, lousy customer service there lady! And so begins a short but very nice collection quest!
So this is how it goes...
I used the Hawk whistle to call a Hawk and got it to snatch the cradle from the Monkey. I gave the cradle back to Uli who had lost it and in turn she gave me a fishing pole that Colin made for me. I used the fishing pole to catch a couple of fish. The cat snatched up a fish and went back home to the store lady, I went to the store lady and bought myself the Slingshot... XD
It was quite fun, but other stuff happened along the way too, like teasing cucco's and oh oh oh, a goat got loose and I got to stop it! It comes charging towards you and you get to stop it, I grabbed onto its horns and literally tossed it onto its side XD It was so cool! The poor thing got up, shook its head and with a sad face walked back up to the Ranch. I felt so sorry for it I went up and patted it just to show there were no hard feelings XD
So anyway, I went back to my house to find that Rusl had delivered something to me... it was a woodern sword! Sweet I head back outside and the kids are all excited about me buying the slingshot and want me to show off my skills with it and the sword... and of course, I blow em away with my skill
(Even with the new setup, Wiimote + Nunchaku, it still feels like a traditional 3D Zelda control scheme, but more refined. There is no free camera control, but you don't need it at all! The Z-lock on centering is all that's really required and even then it's not needed as much as I thought it would be. The camera is vey intelligent which is not surprising at all of course. Aiming with the Wiimote for the slingshot is so damn easy, I'm also sitting in a PERFECT position from the TV/sensorbar so that eventhing feels fluid and natural... plus I've never felt so comfortable with a game controller in my entire life. It's so great that my hands are finally unbinded with these two separate controls.
So yes, as I was saying, aiming with the slingshot rocks, it's extremely accurate and right off the bat I was scoring direct hits. The sword mechanics are great too, swinging the wiimote in small motions is very satisfying, I love it )
After I showed off my skills to the kids, they started talking about the monkeys that have been causing trouble in the village and as we were talking, Talo and Malo spotted one and all of the kids went running after it. Ugh... so of course I had to follow to get them back before they got into trouble.
It didn't take long to catch up to two of the kids, but Talo was still missing... and he had gone into Faron Forest! So, in I went, and guh! Moblins! I fought quite a few of them, as well as Boku Baba's and Keese. My swordsmanship was in top form so it was pretty easy to take them all out, even in large groups.
(The spin attack comes in handy when there are 3 or 4 enemies trying to attack you, and swinging the Wiimote is so damn fun against these guys)
So anywayz, I got a lantern from this guy camping in the forest, just outside of the gate that leads to Hyrule Field and after awhile I finally found Talo. He was inside of a cage, trapped with the monkey! I fought off the Moblins and freed Talo and the monkey and went home...
When we got back, Rusl came to talk to me, Colin had told him about what had happened and he had come to help.... but he was too late, it was all already taken care of
If anyone has any questions about anything to do with TP, just ask and I'll answer them.
Well, it's the night of the second day as I write this so I'm off to bed, ready for the third and final day I'll be spending in Ordon Village.
