The PS3 is really expensive, and I thought the 360 was pushing it...
But then I hear what Kyubi's sayin', I remember all the reasons my mother had during my childhood for not getting a PS. It was more expensive than a SNES or Genesis at the time, and she was stern about not helping me with that. By the time the Nintendo 64 came out, she seemed ok with getting it (being it wasn't quite as expensive as the PS or Saturn when they debuted). Plus me and my brother would have fights over the 32-bit systems (I wanted a Saturn, he wanted a PS). Now that I'm all grown up? Money's holding me back, especially since I got a 360 with the help of a friend. A gamecube wasn't hard to obtain by the time it was $100 though
And a PS2 is quite obtainable at the moment. But we all know why that is...
Fun Note: To this day, I love my Saturn to death, but cry over the fact I had to ebay Panzer Dragoon Saga (paid $200 years back for it) and Guardian Heroes (paid $70), long with discovering import greats like Radiant Silvergun (another $200 back in my better money making heyday). Those days are over now, trust me.
Fun Note 2: We bought a Panasonic 3DO back when it was dying from the PS and Saturn, it was $100 with our choice of three games, and to this day I miss it...
