I'm looking at this from the average persons point of view, not the hardcore gamers. We already know that hardcore gamers will buy whatever console because they know the system and know the games that will come out for it.
Besides, I don't have to own the systems to play their games. Despite not owning a PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, Dreamcast, etc, I have played the games that have appeared on those consoles and enjoyed them.
All I've ever said is that I don't like the price of the PS3 so don't get your panties in a twist if I continue to say that I don't like the price of the PS3. I don't it's worth paying 600USD/1000USD for it and ironically even my friends who are Playstation fans don't think it's worth paying that much for it which is why they're waiting. The problem is that none of us know exactly how long they'll be waiting so they're gonna have to get it at some point even if the price hasn't changed. And that pisses me off. So excuse me for worrying about that kind of thing.
Finally, I never said that the PS3 controller wasn't rechargable, but lithion-ion's have been known to fail and Sony's track record with customer service is, to be blunt: SHIT.
