I think it's happened before that the electricity from a lightning strike travelled through the phone line and put a guy using the phone into a coma (I think he was a 911 operator).
so if it could do that to a guy, probably do some damage to your computer too.

This really brings me to a few thoughts about electrical stimuli. WHY HASN'T ANYONE INVESTED IN ANYTHING TRULY SERIOUS! (microsoft I'm looking at you) I saw a discovery channel special on stimulating different sensory areas in the brain to highten gaming and media experience. I mean, god! How cool would it be to be able to stimulate your erogenous zones through a chat client?

I have a surge protecter it has a phone line bit in it to but i use cable broadband =D

Well, the question I'd have to ask is given Microsoft's history of bugs and defects, do you *really* want your erogenous zones being connected to any product from them? I mean, just think of the effects if a small little code error were imbedded in this chat client... one that turned up the amps by a factor of say, 100 or so?
