I'm a big fan of anything to do with survival horror, but I've grown tired of the magnitude of people who prefered Resident Evil 4 over the others. Granted, it is one of the best games ever made, but it wasn't scary and it certainly wasn't a survival horror game.

For starters, the same type of enemies kept appearing when you eliminated them. At first this was a little terrifying for you because one of the villagers wielded a chainsaw and you only had a mere firearm to defend yourself.

As you advance, you can sell treasures to a merchant and buy/sell or upgrade your guns. This was just zany in my opinion. It didn't make the game seem hard.

The plot was just your typical kidnap story with more twists and turns of the deadliest kind. Leon had no back-up (besides Ingrid) and what really disappointed me was the new storyline that seemed to be completely unrelated to the outbreak that occured in Raccoon City and on Rockfort Island.

I think they should have made a filler game to explain how Umbrella were defeated. This was something fans wanted to see years ago, but it never was.

The new Wii game is rumoured to feature Leon S. Kennedy again and an update about this is expected in August. Resident Evil 5 is also in development and it might be released in March 2007.

True, Resident Evil 4 isn't much of a survival horror as it is an action-shooter. But it's still damned good. I prefer RE4 over the other versions of RE cause the controls and gameplay annoy me so much with the others.

The things that make this game easier and less terrifying is pretty simple though, it's the fact that it has such improved gameplay that makes it easier. None of that fixed camera nonsense. Also, Leon himself had so much confidence and was such a badass that you never felt that he was in any serious danger. He'd always give you the impression that he could take on anything. Plus if you're pretty used to survival horrors anywayz, I'm sure the affect has probably been dulled.

Yeah, the plot is a typical kidnap story, but it's a survival horror, has any survival horror, game or movie ever had that thick of a plotline by itself? I mean once you play through all of the RE games you do see that there's a pretty thick plot being weaved, but each game by themselves are pretty shallow, but that's the nature of the genre.

As for Umbrella, that was pretty much explained in the prolugue, Umbrella was wiped out financially thanks to the actions of the US government. Remember Umbrella is a corporation, not an army. And what happened to the devious people within Umbrella is unknown, but that's why more RE games are being made, to explain that fact. Remember what I said earlier, by themselves these games are pretty shallow, but together they make up a greater whole.

We know that officially Umbrella is gone, but there are still nefarious people from that company still around. Not to mention the fact that the company which was in competition with Umbrella has something going on which none of us know about at this point. RE4 was a stepping stone, it was the beginning of a new chapter for Resident Evil. No longer is it just about Umbrella and the outbreak, it's grown far beyond that.

And yeah, I heard about the rumour that Leon would return for another round on Wii. I hope so, Leon rocked And it sucks that RE5 is for PS3 (and Xbox360?) only, but as long as Wii get's a good RE game with Leon or someone who's just as kickass then I'll be happy.

I myself am trying to play through Resi 4... I say trying because Guitar Hero keeps getting in the way. I'm playing it on the GameCube and NOT the PS2 'cos I like the GC controller better... the analog stick is... smoother.

I'd personally like to see another game with Rebecca and/or Billy, she may have been an 18 yr old in the 1st game but that was set in 1991, she would be in her early 30's by now and probebly be able to kick some serious Zombie... or plagus ass now.

Well the next one is Zombies again... Its utalised the semi freedom of Resi 4 by being based in (we think) Spanish town, and this time the Zombies can run, like the Crimsons in Resi Remake.

Yeah they are, but the company itself is still dead, it's the people who worked for Umbrella that they're refering to.

That part's easy. Simply jump down, climb back up the ladder real quick and push the ladder back and then they'll all try to climb up the ladder on the other side or put up the ladder you kicked down. That slows them down enough for you to take em all out easily.

One opposite the cannon. Either way it's not that hard to take out the barrels pretty quickly. But yeah, after the area is clear use the cannon...

yeah but watch out plagus monks appear at one point after the catapults are destroyed so dont leave ashely alone while you go for the cannon, or they may grab her while your gone.

There was some confusion a while back. Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil Wii are actually two separate games entirely. There's suppost to be some update next month according to the news posters on the Evil Unleashed web site.

I heard he was pretty pissed after RE4 was ported from the GCN to PS2 and wasn't all that happy about Killer7 being ported either. Hell, he also wanted Devil May Cry to come to the GameCube too but Sony had Capcom force that move to be dropped... his last days at Capcom have been pretty quiet though, it felt like to me that Capcom was keeping him quiet after all that Sony bashing and now it's become clear that he's finally had enough of them. But this happened back in 2005...

Back from my random spell of silence I bring news that you all probably already know.

The main character Is Chris Redfield, It takes place in the desert, or desert like area, The tempurature plays a huge roll in the game, Zombies run faster, at least as fast as a human. That's all I know If anything's wrong feel free to point and laugh.

Resident Evil has to be another story in which I'm a major fan of. The concept has to be one of the best ideas relating to zombies. Not to mention I just LOVE Claire Redfield. Woot! Their bringing her into the new movie!!! FREAKEN LOVE ALL OVER! But to the point of this post. You all must know that I love Resident Evil so much I think they should make a killer anime show to go for it. What do you think? Wouldn't it be sweet?
