Recently there seems to be a growing number of people searching for the first tin release of FMA (mainly people over at the Madboards) and I found out 1 person has paid up to $200 for one over there from an ebay auction lol.

How many of you guys here have this? Do you wish you should've bought 2 or more seeing how much cash people are willing to pay for it now? I never really had the intention of buying this at all even when it was promoted heavily at the Manifest convention last year, with it stated as EXTREMELY LIMITED (only 2000 were made in Australia).

As you would expect from the heavy promotion, this tin was declared as sold out within a month of its release in Australia from the retail stores. The interesting thing was that around 4-6 months later around the time when the 2nd tin was released, a number of these first limited edition tins started to appear at all the JB Hi-Fi stores I went to.

The first one I spotted was in Prahran, then in Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD and then about 10-12 of these at the one in Bourke Street (also in the Melbourne CBD). I finally decided to buy one of the tin 1 purely out of curiosity XD, well maybe because it was previously advertised as LIMITED that I thought I might as well buy it for my anime collection XD.

Madman's release of this limited edition has the same tin design as the US release but the soundtrack is a little bit....no more obviously different. Why? Well if you look at the pic above you'd notice the soundtrack has a gold colour for the soundtrack's title and back slip but with Madman's release, the soundtrack's title colour is in an ugly PINK XD. The back slip is completely white making the soundtrack look very plain overall. Do you guys in the US who have this tin get the soundtrack with the gold colour? My guess with Madman's release is that they were cheap and couldn't be bothered forking out money for gold ink lol.

At the moment I still haven't really been bothering trying to collect the next 4 volumes to fill up my tin 1. I don't know if I should sell it or not but seeing how much money it's worth recently I'm tempted XD. I guess if I'm gonna buy the 2nd tin then it'll probably be around the time when it becomes scarce.

You'll always find someone who's willing to pay lotsa cash for anything that's limited in number for whatever reason. I mean I bought the Zelda Collector's Edition GCN disc on Ebay for 80AUD just cause you couldn't buy it in stores lol.

Not enough money for me! XD. I still don't know whether to sell my tin or not. Probably not at the moment, keep it for a little bit longer before it becomes rare.

Kinda makes me wish I should've bought at least another copy of this tin and sell it for close to $100 lol. The aussie ebay had actually listed one of the tins with a buy it now price of $450AU and starting bid of $200. Someone desperate enough for it actually bidded on it probably in the last minute.

Also a few days ago another one of those tins was actually listed with a buy it now price of only $60AU and that actually contained the tin, soundtrack and DVD Volumes 1-5. As you would expect someone snapped it up quickly (and it wasn't me lol).
