Rumour has it that Hideo Kojima has revealed in his Hide-chan Radio podcast that Konami plans to produce an American Metal Gear Solid movie...
Now MGS is one of the few games I like outside of Nintendo and I'm very reluctant about it since all other videogame movies have sucked so damn badly in the past. But as always there's always room for hope that SOMEONE gets it right, let's hope they get it right for MGS... They certainly won't for Halo LOL.

Well I'm not fully surprised from this as ever since I've played the first Metal Gear Solid game I've always thought that a live action film will be made out of it since the plot does have potential to be on the big screen.
Unlike many other videogame movies though I'm having some high hopes for this if it's confirmed a movie is in the works. I suppose this will be probably be some sort of Mission Impossible-esque type of film though.
I can't see it doing that well just because of the history of video game movies. I never really got into MGS so I doubt I'll see it.
not a bad idea, it could make a good action movie with a Kurt Russell tyoe actor. As long as they shoot it with an "action movie" in mind and not an "First person shooter" in mind. For some reason Hugh Jackman comes to mind.

Yeah Hugh Jackman does come to mind for me too, especially after playing Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman? I was thinking of someone else that's more gruffy to play snake lol but he could be alright for that character. I'd be interested to see who would play Natasha and Sniper Wolf.
That reminds me, if they are gonna make a movie on MGS, which one would it be on? Cause MGS2 was sort of the prequel to the first one but I have no idea what the timeline is for the 3rd.
Don't be fooled just cause he played The Boy from Oz Hugh Jackman can be pretty gruff when it comes down to it.

Yeah, he's gonna shake and rattle his way through the fields from the guards lol, but who else would best fit to play the other characters in the game? Namely Revolver Ocelot, Liquid Snake, the chinese girl which I think is named Mei-Ling and that other girl that assisted Snake in the first game (the redhead chick lol).
For some reason I could see Julian McMahon playing one of the villains since he's quite good at playing the bad characters, lol this could have an all aussie star cast film but since it'll probably be an American made movie then I would see other big American Hollywood stars being pitched for the cast.
Actually I've always felt that the MGS series would make perfect material for a film. I'm thinking especially of all the really fantastic boss battles and that huge massive insane rollercoaster of an ending to MGS 3 (JEEP chases and massive explosions...it FELT like I was watching a movie for christ's sake).
In fact the MGS games are at least as enjoyable for all of their cinematic qualities as for their actual gameplay, and I think that's saying something.

Bad move Hideo,... Bad move...
and now there's a Warcraft movie comming too, dunno, I lost my hopes on game based movies, so far they only make movies for take advantage of the game's popularity rather than make a movie that would be popular by itself
Military Intelligence are two contradictory words

Even though he's too old, Kurt Russell(sp) still seems like a perfect Snake.
and the Warcraft movie is just crap waiting to happen.

Kurt Russell would make a good MGS4 Snake LOL
You've read it! You can't unread it!

Well I haven't even seen MGS4 let alone the third one but I would think he'd match the character of Liquid Snake from MGS1, just give him some long hair and rough beard then there you go.

That makes it look even more convincing that he should play Liquid Snake if the movie was gonna be based on the first in the series, although the chances could be very slim.
snake plissken was the inspiration for solid snake -- seems kind of obvious that kurt russel would make a good snake if you ask me...although russel is getting too old to play something like this...

I hated doom :S thought it was rubbish.
Everyone knows that the Doom movie is rubbish. The people who made the movie probably thought it was rubbish too.

No, Kurt wouldnt make a good snake. why?
NOT FUNNY TWICE!
i shall explain:
MGS2:
Snake's 'cover' ID was LTJG 'Pliskin' seal team 6
Escape from N.Y. / L.A.
Kurt russel's character in those movies was named 'Snake Pliskin'
Kurt Russel Wrote:"Call me Snake"
