E3 2006 is just around the corner! I can't wait!! I'm so excited!!! I'm gonna be there for hours with my live webfeeds and on the second news updates and vids and pics and everything!!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to hear what nintendo has in store for us. Perhaps a DS Lite release date? And I can't wait to hear more about the revolution.

I really want one of those once they come out.

I'm also really looking forward to Legend of Heroes 2: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch for PSP. The first one was awesome, so if that is anything like it, it'll be sweet!

It begins, the game news from all 3 platforms as well as PC news is flooding into various sites like IGN and Gamespot, i'm rushing all around the net for the latest news. But not just news, there are rumours floating around and EGM has some bold claims about the NRV/Wii...

XD And as I type this up the Sony conference is JUST about to start, and the Nintendo conference will be in less than 17 hours... tis a gamers christmas!

You didn't miss much tai, I watched the entire thing and it's pretty much Sony saying how great they are for the first third, then Sony talking about how they plan to dominate the market with it's innovative ideas, etc, etc... Then we saw a presentation of Gran Turismo HD (reworked GT4 running on the PS3) which wasn't that great to be honest, but it did show off the PS3 running a true HD game live and uncompressed...

Then we got to see the EyeToy in action, which I thought was pretty nifty cause I kinda like the idea of the EyeToy, though the implementation of it is very difficult. We got to see what can only be described as a live Yu-Gi-Oh! type card battle with actual cards.

Then we got to see a PS1 game (Ridge Racer) downloaded into the PSP and played, we all knew about this awhile ago that Sony was gonna do this kinda thing, but I still found it aright, a very good idea we Nintendo fans wanted Nintendo to do with the DS but Sony beat them to it.

Mostly we saw a lot of videos of games to come out on the PS3, most of them looked gorgeous with beautifully done animation... but other than that what we were seeing were essentially PS2 games that look REALLY REALLY good. I might sound bias about that since I'm a Nintendo fan, but I am being very honest here. The games do look bloody great, but that's it.

Sony has also made it official, pretty much, that their online service is... an Xbox Live clone, pretty much right down to the letter.


Overall it was very underwhelming since I was expecting Sony to shock us all, they never did. Oh and also, the boomerang controller was nowhere to be seen, they were using wired Dual Shock 2's for their presentations.

Great looking realistic Gundam game for PS3. Yay for all those Gundam fans.

Looks like my videofeed cut off near the end. Two major things I missed out, one of which REALLY pisses me off.

1. PS3 will come in two versions, 1 with a 20gig HD and another with a 60gig HD for 499USD and 599USD.

2. SONY COPIED NINTENDO. They've added motion detection into the PS3 controller, which incidentally looks exactly like the Dualshock and Dualshock 2.

This really pisses me off and clearly highlights why I hate Sony.

I haven't hated sony in the past, but I might just start now. I can't believe they are having motion sensored controllers. I just hope everybody knows that Nintendo were the ones to do it first.

Well to go into detail all Sony really did was put Kirby's Tilt and Tumble into every DualShock2...er 3 controller. But we all know what Sony is trying to do.

If sony has stolen the concept for their pad from nintendo then nintendo has stolen it from micro$oft cause they released their first motion sensored gamepad in early 2002. (Microsoft freestyle pro)
But 500 Euro or Dollar are much more than I am willing to pay for a videoconsole anyway

I haven´t seen the nintendo stream but the sony gamepad seems to have the same concept as the old sidewinder, nothing revolutionary there. I don´t know what features the nintendo pad has nor have i ever mentioned that. I just wanted to say that the new feature of the sony pad isn´t that new and it looks as if it was inspired from the old sidewinder or other 3d pads of that time.

if anyone missed it, grand theft auto 4 was announced. it's out on the Xbox 360 october 2007.

it was a long enough wait for GTA: san andreas to get a PC release, then have it recalled because of the hot coffee before i could buy it.

Does it really matter if one game console is copying another? I honestly don't see why it's that big of a deal -- great, so nintendo has a motion-detecting controller, and sony has decided to lift that concept and put it into their controller as well. That doesn't make the nintendo system any worse, and if anything it should just make all games on all systems much more fun to play (if the detecting capacity is used properly) which is a good thing.

Immitation, besides, is the sincerest form of flattery.

I have a wireless mouse and it rocks, you just gotta get the right one. The Wavebird also rocks as a wireless controller.

Oh and WOOHOO!! There's a prototype of a lightgun shell for the Wii Remote in the Nintendo booth.



This looks great, it'll pretty much create a lightgun/fps type game possible with NO RAILS.

I would have to look into that, but my main concern is when my PS2 goes kaput, I'll have about 500 in games that I enjoy but cant play, so I am also looking for a way to keep using the games I have.

either way I'll probly wait about 6 months to a year before getting a console. The first runs have too many bugs.

Well it's not quite like the original Duck Hunt, but it's a step in the right direction. Also from what I've been hearing there is a bit of getting used to with the Wii Remote, but that's to be expected. The same thing happened when the Analog stick was introduced.

Oh it is. Lynk was just suggesting that Gundam would not be limited to the PS3, and hence that I shouldnt think it's my only choice. But I was saying if I bought say...a Wii, And a year later my PS2 died, I wouldnt be able to play all those old games I enjoyed.

By the pricing if you're able to afford a PS3, you'd definately be able to afford a Wii. To add to that, there are Gundam games of the past...
