Last friday about 1400 hours a friend of mine left this world. Hes a nice guy, always keeping me entertained and amused everytime. He even provide me with hentai and porn. But but, its his time. Good bye old friend, Good bye my sweet desktop computer.
Now the good news is i got to find a replacement, so i need you guys to suggest the best set up in the lowest price possible. I still a student you know. So dont tell me that im a cheapscake cause no one can do anything about it. And yeah i using my crappy laptop, so its kinda hard to play games and stuff. Please help. thanks with the low price will definitely a good news to my financers (parents). thank you agian.
hunting around for a new computer is relatively easy, it depends on which way you want to sway really, if you cant be bothered building one yourself, then id go for a pre-built, the downside with pre-built is that you may or may not get what you want.
if you can be bothered going for building it yourself, hunt/find what you really want in your system first, after you have done that, compare prices with other retailers/ online shops to find the cheapest price on the parts you are looking for, then it's pretty self-explanitory, or, i can dig out some websites on where you can get some parts from?
Dig thoose website out whahahahaahha. ok we live in different countries so i think i would be better if you just give me some parts. thank you.
Try looking at the prices for parts with the same specs from your old system then work from there for a new system maybe
So...
What happened exactly?
your computer fried?
What's ye be still good in thar!? Avast ye scally wag!!
i got that pc umhhh five years ago. so the spec is kinda low from todays standards the hell i cnat even remember its specs. i was happily watching SOMETHING then it shut down. it never turns on since then. so bassically the pc has a possibility of being fix, but due to its low specs i decided t buy a new one. i need a suggestion on what part i should use. theres another thing, i didnt buy that pc, a friend of mine a lot older than i am bougth that pc for me. So youre talking to a noob in shopping for pc parts.
well, first things first, what do you need to do?
Do you need it for work, or gaming or what?
My main reason is to play games and watched STUFFS and anything between thoose lines but i cleverly disguised it by saying i need it for studying.

hmm, ok, let me see:
Intel Core2 Duo E6850 (dual core CPU)
Asus P5K-EPU Motherboard
Gigabyte RADEON HD 2400 XT (graphics)
1 GB of RAM
250GB Hard Drive or a 160GB Hard Drive
LITEON DH-20A4P IDE Super AllWrite DVD+-20X8X8/8X4 (the DVD/CD burner)
600W power Supply unit
And a case to contain it all
you wont need keyboard and mouse because you already have one, nor will you need another monitor, unless you really want a new monitor
although i have found the parts, im not telling you to buy those straight up, if you have a friend in the IT/ computer business then run it by him/her, even though i build them, fix them ect., the prices can vary depending on where you are, so it's always good to get a second opinion
I hardly would have the need for a DVD burner, usually a $30 CD-RW LG from wally world do fine.
imho
I'd grab me two of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820208389
then one of these: http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_m...4cfprj.asp
Throw em into a RAID 10, and use it for your OS.
Then slap a 10GB Western Digital into your secondary EIDE/SATA by itself and use it purely for virtual memory, leaving nothing to be used on those compact flash setup.
then throw on your 160GB and your DVDRW/CDRW as MST/SLV (respectfully) on your primary EIDE/SATA
then hold on to your setup until they release CF Type IV cards and watch your system fly.
I already have two of those transend 32gb 133x Compact Flash cards
and a chip designed for laptops, but I dont think it supports RAID
thats if your going for the fastest system on the planet, but in this instance a machine like that wont be necessary, the one i suggested will be fine for everything he needs to do with it, but id still recommend someone going over the list first
thanks kin, ill be snooping around in a shopping area in the capital. ill use your list. thank you scar ill be using yours to, but mostly i cant comprehend what you just say. thank you anyways. thanks a lot!
Just remember to check out to see if there are any computer fairs in your local area, I usually find them a great place to barter. Big computer shops just tend to steal your money and off load a Paper weight on you
I am a Member, Not a Number!!!
If your going to have 1GB of graphics RAM get 2GB of RAM
@ chim: the graohics card i listed is not 1 GB, it can be either 256Mb or 512MB graphics, your probably thinking the ATI HD 3870x2 GPU 1GB XD
@tacx: no problem
just cant wait to have a new pc. you know its kinda embarassing to you guys cause i cant comprehend to the compter terms that you're saying, now im thinking to have a degree on com sci after I got my degree on nursing.
trust me, your alot better than people i know, i know some people who dont even know whats inside
a computer, all they know about is hard drive space, mouse and keyboard and MSN, thats it, you can imagine what it's like trying to tell them what parts are inside a computer, let alone teach them how to use other programs >_>
well i did try to build a pc from 2 broken units, and sell usable socondhand parts that i can found on the storage.
i do that all the time, except for selling the parts, when i find 2 broken machines, the chances are one of the broken machines has the working part the other one broken one needs
just got myself a nice computer...aside from the graphics card.
amd 64 dual core 2.2 ghz
2 gig ddr2 ram
350 gig hard drive
256mb integrated graphics (though it does have pci-e slot which i intend to fill with a 8800 GTS card soon)
also came with a 19" widescreen monitor, keyboard, mouse..
costed me a little over $500. i just didn't feel the need to bother with the hassle of putting one together and shit not working...would've pissed me off and had my parents pointing and going told ya so told ya so....lol
not a bad system, my system is awesome, it's a powerhouse, in my system i got:
Intel core 2 Quad Core processor running @ 2.4Ghz per core
2GB of ram
Sapphire ATI HD 2600 PRO 512MB graphics
Western Digital 500GB Hard Drive
Tv-Tuner card
LG super-multi burner
22'' LCD widescreen monitor
And last but not least, got the logitech X530 surround sound system
and boy does my system fly
yeah, look at my system...
its an undead one,
and boy my system sucks. XD
