Awhile back, one of our members, Kimberly Chang, who we knew as Kiai, suddenly up and left C3F forever... many of you wanted to know why, and I promised that I'd tell you soon. So, here it is...
For almost the last year or so, Kim has been battling cancer. She held onto this place for as long as she could but finally came to a decision that she would leave C3F before her condition got any worse... though, from what she told me on the day she left, her condition was pretty bad. According to her, she didn't have long to go... I made the futile attempt to make her promise me that she would let someone know to contact me when she did pass away... so far... nothing... and to be honest, I don't expect to hear any word from anyone about Kim.
It has been quite some time since she left C3F, and while I don't know for sure whether she is still fighting on or has finally passed away, I hope that she is/was able to make some kind of peace within herself.
During the end of our last conversation she asked why I haven't said "goodbye" or something to that effect to her yet. I told her that it's not my thing to say goodbye to people.
See ya around, Kim. I'm sure we'll meet again.
