Esplain.
I do not believe that was photoshopped, for a number of reasons. You can see the original here:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/620854/L/ Birds are common around airports (all that greenspace gives them nice spots to nest, and also makes it easy for them to watch for predators), and as a consequence, a lot of money is invested in keeping them away. Many airports use propane cannons to scare them, and I know that around my area, there are both fake and real falcons to keep the birds away. In fact, one of the concerns with the recent flight BA038 crash-landing was that it had sucked a flock of birds into the engines- apparently a large flock has settled in nearby and has been causing trouble. I do not know if this has been eliminated as a possible cause, however. Here's another example: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=13...id=1315739

Now that I think about it, its probably also a case of perspective. Birds directly in front of cameraman in the foreground mean either alot of birds or really big birds in relation to the subject in the background. Makes it more menacing then it really is.

Scar da Kookee Wrote: Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Creepy movie. My Gran lives about 30 minutes from Cardiff International Airport. Got big problem with seagulls all over the place. The bird/plane pic is not photoshopped. It just looks that way because the birds are closer to the photographer, whose camera is focused on the plane. Also the feathered fiends are moving really fast. They just end up looking big and blurry. I've taken photos of Buckingham Palace in London that have a similar effect caused by the pigeons.
