Who do you think you are?? Okay some people here might be giving me an odd look for asking this. But the question I?m asking, how much do you know about your family history. The Question is a title of a British television program, where they trace the family of celebrities, and I?ve always had a keen interest in genealogy. A few years ago I helped by working on and updating my family tree, which goes back as far as the 17th century.
So how much do you know of your family, Some people I know here have quite interesting family background but do you really know where your ancestor come from? You wouldn?t guess it. But I got both Welsh and Italian blood in me?.
So come, if you know tell us? if not look it up because you may never know if your too late, as important facts can be lost when family members die. I feel it?s important you know where you come from.

I'm descended from Indian slaves (sorry... I meant "workers"... lol, yeah right ) brought over to Fiji by the British Empire... because of that, it's pretty much impossible to figure out a family line before Indians settled on Fiji... and even then, I really don't want to know what happened after... the thought of so few Indians on a small island for a few generations isn't really something I want to think about.

"This is serious business."
Interesting topic, Hawk ^^ My dad's fascinated by geneology, and following the family tree has put us (back) in touch with some of our distant twigs and branches.
Descended from an old English noble family, some of whom moved to the States (in possible disgrace) and got some fun family history that I won't bore you with. If I'm completely insane, I'm just following in my ancestors' footsteps As for bloodlines, I've got English, Scottish, Irish, French, German and Dutch. Mixed bag of everything, reporting in for duty!
And Lego Man needs a better haircut
Just because it's in the thesaurus doesn't mean it's a good idea.
And why isn't 'dethesaurisation' in the dictionary?
Well... I'm looking through the 1901 census and I tell you it ain't CHEAP, but I found out some information on family member who I had listed but knew nothing about, For example I had a Farmer for a GREAT GREAT GREAT Grandfather, but I'm gald I don't still have his family Name.... Diaper... Who wants a name like that these days

I know one of my aunts did a family tree that goes way back but I don't know a lot about my ancestors besides both my mom and dad's side are from Germany.
@ Hawk: Not yet... all dull workaday names so far. Don't think I can match Diaper for a name

German, Scottish, Greek, Swedish, Dutch,...
Scotch Irish, and also Mexican Roots, possibly aztec or mayan, but I sucks at Maths.
My grandfather on my dad's side came from Ireland, my great grandfather on my dad's side came from England, and i believe my great grandfather from my mom's side came from Germany, or my great great grandfather did.
Well, as far as I know, I am half Swedish, half German.
>.O
Well, on my mom's side, my great grandfather was Spanish. And we had some Chinese mixed in somewhere there. My dad's side was from the natives of our country (Aetas?). My hometown's name is the same as my last name~ :3

Man this took an intresting turn this weekend, My aurnt sent a few things to my dad and one of them was a letter writen by my Greatgranddad in 1916. We had known he was in the Army durring that time, but nothing abotu where he saw action or what unit he was in... this simple letter brought whole new meaning to what I have read in the history books. My family was part of it...
