The latest J-Pop artist I've been getting into lately. Most you guys who saw or watch Full Metal Panic would probably be familiar with her as she does the opening and ending themes for all the FMP series. Her other songs are actually pretty good after listening to tracks from her Kimi no Uta and Review albums.

Mikuni's got a pretty decent voice but the only problem I notice is that when she tries to hit the high notes, it sounds out of pitch but still her voice sounds pretty good and a LOT more mature than the songs she sang in her early days.

The best songs from her in my opinion are

Arekara ~Soshite Ima~ *this one is an amazing ballad and shows her potential*

Kimi ni Fuku Kaze seems like it was influenced alot by Santana's song with Michelle Branch "The Game Of Love" because both songs sound quite similar. Overall I think Mikuni's got great potential to have a long career in the music business, anyone else listen to her music other than her anime songs?

Personally I love all of the melodies and the lyrics to a huge majority of her songs, but I have to say (and honestly this is a problem I notice with a lot of pop in general, but especially with chinese and japan pop) that her voice is not particularly strong. I feel that it's kind of thin, and I don't think it has a lot of range either.

That said, it's fine for the types of songs that she's going to be singing. So, my favourites:

Yeah, I notice it too that her voice isn't very strong but the songs she sings still sound pretty good, it's only when she tries to hit those high notes it sounds all out of key. With that said, I do still see that her voice has matured ALOT if you've heard her really early works where she sounds like a 10 year old kid lol.
