I just got WoW for Christmas this year and I'm loving it so far. Every chance I get I play. Earlier this year I tried out Galaxies and that was a huge disappointment, so I'm glad this mmo is great.

I'm in the realm Malfurion, and my character name is FÃ«anor, a Night Elf warrior.

Personally i would rather be playing Star Wars Galaxies. However I have any enough for SOE changing the combat system every 6 months. And changing evering thing else when they see fit.
After the 2nd combat upgrade again, i figured "FUCK YOU SOE! I am going elsewhere"

Yeah, I tried galaxies for a couple of months, and while the gameplay was OK, the constant changing of the combat, and at the beginning all you do is go get a quest and do it and bring it back to the person (similar to WoW, but WoW is so much more fun somehow). One of the major reasons I quit it was the terrible lag, I couldn't stand it.

just got to lvl 45, now and i have my mount. The only thing i real hate about the game is trying to save for your mount man its hard.

30-40 is rough.

12-30 is pretty easy from personal experience.

The best part about WoW is how visceral the combat feels. Exaggerated motions, solid sound effects, and nice, punchy graphics do a lot for the game. I can see how it would really get old though...not like EVE, or old school SWG (I don't know about now though, since SWG basically became JKII with exp points)

I haven't played it but my stepmom does. I think she's got several characters but I might be thinking of another game. There's two or three that she has been into lately. Don't know character names or domains :/

Galaxies has more Jedi in it than non-Jedi, the last time I checked.

I used to play that game, I got it last summer, played for 2 months, and quit.

yeah woulda been hard for me too, but i had joined a guild a while back and the guild bank helped a ton, and the guild members are all close (small guild)
and they helped aswell

i actually got TOLD i was getting my mount haha XD
but yeah 100 gold is hard to get haha

Mine cost me 80 gold, because i am a a high rank in the Battle ground ranks, but my guild doesn't have a guild bank -.-, we have everything but that.

does anyone here play RF or Ragnarok? I'm just asking coz my teacher is gonna be a GM for Playforum (?), which will bring WoW here, and he says we should check it out. If anyon plays RF or RO, how can WoW be compared to it? I want to have an idea of the game beforehand...is it a grind game like RF? Or just hack,slash and level up like RO?

Well my friend and I just started a new guild yesterday. It's called "Kairos" and it's Latin for "the right or opportune moment." Does anyone know if the 14 day trial version has an expiry date (ie must use before set date)?

I was given a copy weeks ago and due to the crap happening in my life at the moment I will not be able to play until at least next year at the earliest.

I think when you get the trial you have to use it within 30 days, but I could be wrong.

And currently I'm level 27.
