Man I'm thinking of not waiting at all and just collecting the ADV release of Macross. It's sounding too damn good! It doesn't matter how much it'll cost me to get it, I just have to.

oh right, I saw that in suncoast a couple days ago(same day I got my VF-1A). I didnt pay much attention. it's from ADV, which means they'll probly come out with a slim-pak boxset for less.

Are thinpack covers able to fit 2 disks? In any case, I'd rather get it individually if there is any chance of a thinpack... thinpacks suck.

There are thinpak (no 'c') cases that hold 2 discs, they put one disc on each side of the case. Another unfortunate thing is that if ADV put out a thinpak set, it'd be stripped of all the extra features.

I'm probably not going to be buying this release. Even though I prefer dubs, I'm very happy with my Animeigo DVDs and don't see a reason to buy the same series again. Unless I can get it really cheap, I'll probably pass on it.

I dunno, it's got a tonne of extras that the AnimEigo release doesn't have as well as the dub as well as the fact that Mari is in the dub. They're really putting a lot into the release.

Although there's no way of getting this (Macross: Do You Remember Love?) other than the original Japanese DVD or VHS release, thought I'd show you guys what you're missing out XD. Even in Japan these are goddamn expensive ranging from 9,000 to 10,000 yen on Yahoo Japan Auctions (that's somewhere close to $100US I guess).

I'll let you Macross fans drool over those pictures lol.

the booklet extras yeah. but that never appealed to me much to start with. though I dont know about 2 disc things...2 disc's in a normal case are pretty new for normal single releases, as for slim-pak w/2 discs...I've yet to see it.

To be honest, the biggest thing keeping me from buying it is money. I'm already pushing it by buying as many series as I am right now. (and I'm not even up to date on them all.) While I love Macross, I just don't see the dub being that much of an incentive to add yet another series to my budget. Frown

They removed the on-disc extras as well for nearly all of the thinpak sets released so far. I think only 4 sets still have their on-disc extras. (The first 3 they did; Noir, RahXephon, and FMP and one older series.)

Also, double thinpak here.

Darky, I would willingly endure the pain of birthing your love child just for the right just to touch that DVD with my right pinky... not to mention the pain of that whole sex change thing :P

I JUST finished copying my 20 freakin' year old LD ripped VHS (no subtitled) copy of DYRL onto my computer. The quality of the tape is so bad at this point I can barely hear or see anything... and I STILL had to rip myself away from the computer to take care of things around the house while it was recording XP

Uhh....thanks but no thanks lol. I think you got the wrong idea, I don't own that DVD. I just found pictures of it on yahoo japan auctions and thought I'd show it here for those who haven't seen it.

Though I'd be looking forward to see you get a sex change ROFL XD HAHAHAHAHAHA!
