Look at how they butchered the shit out of the transformers for the live action and we have the ability to do even better than the crap thats there now

Well of course it would suck lol, but not on the level of computer graphics. It would suck simply because you wouldn't have the people who know and understand the Ghost in the Shell universe enough to work on it as a liveaction movie, and the fact that we've all recognised Motoko, Batou and the rest as animated characters, it would be suicide to change that.

As for The Transformers movie, the reason the Transformers have a more skeletal frame is because they wanted to make things realistic as possible. Just think about it, with the solid limbed transformers that appeared in all of the animated series, you see that it cannot exist in a real world setting simply because the areas where the limbs fold into are SUPPOSED to be filled with engines and other parts.... It's not a case of overcomplicating things, it's just an effort to make things look like they make sense in the first place. You can't expect it to look as animated as the cartoons in a liveaction setting.

Also the resemblence to insects is probably because insects are the most efficient mechanical forms that exist in nature... think about it.

What about the Altenators/Binal Tech transformer toys? there are real cars that transform into robots and still have that G1 feel and still look good.
If you ever picked up any of the TF:More than meets the eye profile books that Dreamwave did back in 03/04 they explain how megatron can be 50 feet tall and how soundwave and blaster can be so small. and still look like they function like they werent really robots you gotta read it all i think it was in the last one wich was #8 or 9 its also explains there calandar years and how old they are

I understand the whole inscet/mechanical thing its an interesting take on the TF universe but when this first got announced a while back michael bay said he was going to keep it true to G1 for the fans. Thats where all the disapointment comes from

Well they are trying to stay true to G1, but in the story and character sense. Optimus Prime and Megatron will act and feel just as they were in the original series, that sorta thing... the mechanical changes, to me at least, are understandable.

And I thought they were keeping the same head sculpts... or at least their likeness.

Is it real? That's my question. After all, the glimpse of Megatron you see @ http://www.transformersmovie.com looks nothing like that.

From what I hear, that's his cybertron form, if so then who cares, his earth form would look more like what we would know him as.

keep in mind its just a teaser trailer if they kept it like in the teaser it would be awesome untill i found what i posted i was all hell bent counting down the days untill it was released. About the cybertron form, they signed up to do three TF movies. and there will be Unicron, so i dont think cybertron is going to be shown in the very first, and if it is, its just going to be a flashback.
