I heard that Hideaki Anno observed some High School Kids to prepare for directing this anime.
I've recently started rewatching this series again, can't help but laugh every time I see the scene of Yukino chasing Tsubasa at school and the scene where Tsubasa and her father meet Kazuma for the first time. If only there was an actual proper conclusion to the anime version...
"Anime even your girlfriend will like." Thats a fair description. By the way, theres an error in the review. In the first paragraph, it says "Kareshi Kanojou no Jojou", just wanted to point that out.
Just got my hands on all the manga and finished it. I must say, its wonderful. I don't know if I should give anything away.
I thought I'd seriously be turned off by a series like this, the lovey dovey bowls of anime an area few would ever consider jumping into. I have to say though that I was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually get to "girl out" when I watch anime, due to the ever present size double d chest sizes, large explosions, and minimal character personalities. I really did enjoy how the characters interacted, how soft the animation was, and the mood that morphed throughout the series.
I HATE THE FUCKING ENDING THOUGH.
That's cause it doesn't end Kim... I mean the anime version doesn't... the anime version gets fragmented and they run out of money and they just try to create a kind of an "end" for it... the manga on the other hand goes on forever before it finally ends and A LOT happens.
You've read it! You can't unread it!
Not to also mention Gainax pissed off the female author of the manga during the production of the series, so you'll never ever see it being picked up again for animation. Looking back at the it, I felt they could've fitted in Kazuma and Tsubasa's story since he was in it for just a short amount of time.
