In the month of June's NAVY Times, it depects a new manga recently released in Japan about the life of serving onboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73)

The manga focuses on the young Damage Controlman 3rd Class Jack O'Hara, he is half Japaneese and was raised in Kentucky, with grandparents in Japan. He is assigned to a damage control station, and has a series of blunders, of what I've read are accurate to a typical sailor would get during his first time aboard (I lived through a little bit of the experences it dsicribes. IE: hitting kneeknockers, getting lost, getting yelled at , etc)
At any rate, the manga has had assistence with the USN in it's production, and ironically enough, the story goes in and depects a fire that he has to help fight. But only a couple months later the actuality occurs where a fire actually erupts in the same location on the real USS George Washington!!
For me, I might read it entirely just to truely see how accurate life in the navy they make it in the manga.
... I have the experence..
