Since I've seen Genshiken, Genshiken OVA and Genshiken 2 animes, I thought it was enough to make me decide to buy the manga version of it. I've only bought volume 1 and 8 so far. If you're gonna ask why then it's because I feel like buying it in order is gonna be like watching the anime version all over again.
I've read volume 1 and saw that the anime version has followed the manga version quite closely, well the first volume goes up to where Kanaka settles into the club, so because of that I chose to look at the later volumes since the anime ended with some small things unresolved.
Volume 8 is quite interesting as it reveals the reason why Ogiue detests drawing manga and her attitude towards otaku where the anime version never explained why. I'm looking at buying the rest of the volumes sometime later but I plan to get volume 9 first to see how the story ends where the anime left off.
If anyone here has read the manga version of Genshiken and has seen the anime, can they tell me if the anime follows the manga version quite closely? Reading the first volume gives me the impression that it does but I could be wrong in the later volumes.
